Yesterday I was able to pay a visit to RAF Odiham with the grateful help of James Cawley and met up with Flt Sgt Chris Gregory in person.
We were treated with the upmost respect and the 1st order of the day on our arrival, was a nice cup of tea which went down very well.
We were given a guided tour of the hangers and saw one of the chinooks being used as a training platform for future Chinook engineers
We then went outside and watched 2 of the huge beasts fire up their massive engines and haul themselves up into the sky. I know about how they create downforce and all the technical stuff, but as Flt Sgt Gregory stated - its magic that keeps them there and I believe him
I was transfixed and could have stayed watching them for ages - but it was flipping cold :-)
We then returned to James car and unloaded the 5 boxes of cards and went back to the office to get warm and we discussed making the scheme more "corporate" so will be working on a new corporate image and website over the next couple of days.
More details to follow about that :-)
Both I and James had a fantastic day and I want to thank everyone that has sent in cards from all over the country to help get this scheme off the ground (without the aid of a chinnok or a safety net either).
This is an ongoing scheme so will be busy making cards for the next delivery.
Thanks again and don't forget to look out for details of the new website.
On behalf of those who will receive the cards, thank you
Cazz
